Diverse Leadership (Inc.) Notice of Diverse Leadership 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Notice is hereby given that the 2017 Diverse Leadership Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 14 December 2017. The AGM will be held at 5pm in the 1st floor meeting room of Senses Australia, 11 Kitchener Avenue, Victoria Park.
Richard Hill was a true gentleman, an authentic and humble leader and a loved and respected friend. He had a long history of supporting community efforts to include people with disability and has generously shared his time in various roles – chairperson, guest speaker, councillor, mentor. He was excited about the possibilities of Diverse Leadership Inc and agreed to take on the role of inaugural chairperson. Sadly he won’t be around to continue with his many commitments and he will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues. Our deepest sympathy to his wife Heather, his family and carers. Richard will not be forgotten.
Non-executive directors and chairs of not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for scholarships for two one-day courses delivered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors. These scholarships provide a valuable opportunity to strengthen board member capabilities in preparation for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
‘Governance Foundations for Not-for-profit Directors’ and ‘The Not-for-profit Chairman’ will be held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in February 2015.

These scholarships are available through the Australian Scholarships Foundation, which is partnering with Perpetual and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Minister for Sport The Hon Peter Dutton MP and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women The Hon Michaelia Cash, announced the opening of the 2014-15 grant round through a media release, to highlight the contribution of women in sport.
The Women Leaders in Sport grant program provides female administrators, coaches and officials with opportunities to undertake intermediate or advanced training within an existing pathway in the sport industry to reach their leadership potential. Individuals can apply for up to $5,000 and Organisations can apply for up to $10,000 to undertake training in the areas of coaching, communications, media and marketing, governance, management and administration, and officiating.
To be eligible for a grant, individuals must be involved in a paid or volunteer capacity at a local, state or national level in the sport industry for the duration of the project, and both individuals and organisations must be supported by a sporting organisation that is affiliated with a National Sporting Organisation (NSO) recognised by the ASC.
Applications will close at 4.00pm AEST on Wednesday 22 October 2014.
Diverse Leadership Inc (DLI) has been funded by Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) under a Family Leadership Grant to raise family awareness about the diverse and rewarding lives that people with disability experience and the different ways family members have supported this.
People with lived experience of disability are required as presenters.
The role requires each presenter to:
Attend a Professional Development session with E-QUAL, covering presentation content and group facilitation skills, on Tuesday 21st October, 1-4pm.
Develop a presentation (with some guidance) about their life experiences and how their family have supported them to lead the life they have chosen.
Attend a Professional Development session with Peter Dhu, public speaking trainer, on delivering their presentation, on Thursday 30th October, 1- 4.30pm.
Deliver at least two sessions together with another presenter or as part of a panel (between November-March).
Liaise with fellow presenters as needed for each session.
Liaise with E-QUAL about session times and locations as required.
Invoice E-QUAL at the conclusion of each delivery ($200 per session, ABN not required).
Organise transport and support as required (some funding available for transport and interpreters).
Participate in a debriefing/follow up meeting after all of the sessions have been completed.
